This is a note attached to a Mother's Day gift from Oliver. The irony here is that the paper pad is printed with the phrase "Kids Love Mom". Yet when allowed to speak for himself...

"You are kind to me, Mom. I love you (at least sometimes)."

Brilliant! I love your boys. And full marks for honesty--probably no one on earth loves their mom ALL the time. Especially when they're under the age of 20.

That is so honest of him! It made me laugh really hard!

So what I didn't say to him is that the feeling is mutual! (Except I probably love him A LOT of the time as opposed to SOME of the time.)

Ha-ha Jenny! I've been meaning to talk to you about this little note. I read it while hot-gluing his gift together, and couldn't help but burst out laughing. So I read out loud to the rest of the ladies, and then we passed it around for everyone to read again. I had a hard time not laughing again when I looked up and saw Oliver during sacrament, so instead I whispered about the note to Matt and made him laugh. It really was the cutest thing, and made my day. And my week, since I shared with some co-workers. I loved reading it again and can't wait to show it to Matt when he gets home. Oliver really is the best! And so are you, at least sometimes.

LOL. Well, if ever there was any room for doubt that I come up short as a mom, there won't be any now! Thanks for clearing up any lingering misconceptions on that, Charnae ;).

Any chance we could go ahead and print that in the ward newsletter (just in case there's anyone left who didn't get to see it)?

At least he likes you sometimes. Some kids don't like their moms ever.
